This is why I fight.
I am a warrior, born and true. I am disciplined, my head held
high with baited breath, ready for the next battle to began. My battlefield is
always changing, my reasons stay the same, it is for freedom that I fight for. It is
for goodness that I fight for. It's for innocence that I fight for.
I fight because I choose to.
In a dark and cold world, we cling to our respective deities,
as we should. But gods alone sometimes aren't enough, as the darkness of mankind spills
into our homes, our streets, into the spaces of everything, and far too near everyone
we hold dear to us. We are often left with the choice, to stand still and wait for a savior...
or take up arms and do what we must to protect what we love. I am unable to sit and
wait, I will not hesitate to take a stand and to protect!
I fight because I need to.
My weapon of choice is not of steel. It's not of brute force.
It's not of spilled blood. It's a kind word, a soft touch, and of a understanding
heart. It's of listening and placing myself in another's shoes. It's of doing everything
in my ability to help a fellow human being. Not because it's the "right thing to do" or
for any other reason, only for I care and my heart tells me to do so. There
is a time and place for steel and brute force, may it always be the last resort. My first
weapon of choice shall be kindness and I will use it forever.
I fight because I care to.
This world isn't kind and often it isn't fair. But I choose
to live each day, not as the way the world is now, but as the way the world SHOULD
be. I share kindness to everyone. I share kindness to my friends. I share kindness to
my family. I'll share kindness with you. And I'll continue to care, to love, and fight
for you. I won't stop, until my last breath escapes me. Because, everyone is special
to me, everyone is my family, and everyone lives in the world that I live in.
I fight because of you.
