Faeda tosses the Key towards Sonya. The woman grabs it, a
horrible grin of twisted glee and satisfaction. "Faeda..." whines Adie, but then looks to the
ground. "All of that hard work," says Edeline, "Everything we've been through... Was it all for
nothing?" "Yes," hissed Sonya, "Everything that you lower beings do, even breathing, is useless!"
Fruma: "You are ignorant of the powers this key possess!" (-_-)
Star: "Therefore, you would freely give it away, for a mere useless elven bard!" (=_-)
Galen: "Grr!" (;u_u)
Sonya: "But it is predictable! You lower beings are so useless, with your 'love',
'friendship' and 'family'." (^o^)
Fruma: "Ugh... what an ugly weakness. You all disgust me!" (>_>)
Galen: "We disgust you?! Don't make me laugh!" W('O')W
Oar: "You are the ones who are truly disgusting..." (-_-)
Adie: "You meanies!" (;_;)
Faeda: "Let Vi go!" (o_o)
Edeline: "Yes, you have the key, now let our friend go!" (u_u)
"How gullible, Koian." laughs Sonya, "Did you honest think I would fairly trade with the likes of you?"
"Not really." sighs Edeline. "You dirty cow!" roared Captain Pete. Sonya nods, "I think I will have Fruma take care of the
bard. She loves to kill anything elven, the most." "Yay!" cheers Fruma. "NO!" screams Faeda, suddenly running towards Vi. "Wait!"
screams Adie and Edeline, trying to reach out to stop Faeda.
But before anyone could reach Faeda and before their enemies could strike, a huge burning orb shot from
the Key in Sonya's hand! From the orb of light, a beam went right through Sonya, another through Star's arm, and one gazed the
cheek of Fruma. Star screamed in pain, his right arm now limp. Fruma's cheek only bled a little, but her own blood seemed to frighten
her and she started panicking in gibberish. But for Sonya... that beam was fatal blow. She lies dead on the ground.
The orb around Vi is shattered and she rushes towards her friends, moving out of harm's way of Star and
Fruma. "What just happened?" gasps Oar. "Vi!" gasps Faeda, holding onto her friend, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" "I'm fine."
says Vi, a little weak from the electric shocks.
Star: "MY ARM!!!!" (o_o)
Fruma: "The red, that's suppose to stay inside... it's not suppose... it's outside of me!" (o_o)
Oar: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" (<_<)
Galen: "Yes... how easy it would be to take the last two down." (>_>)
Star: "CRAP! FRUMA! WE HAVE TO RETREAT!" (o_o)
Fruma: "No, red... get back in... it's not suppose to be MY blood! I don't wanna die!" (o_o)
Star: "THEN SNAP OUT OF IT, FRUMA!" (o_o)
Captain Pete: "Let's kick their arses!" (>_<)
Galen: "Yeah!" W('O')W
Star: "DAMMIT ALL!" (o_o)
Star grabs a hold of Fruma, with his good arm, and they teleport before any of the men could reach them.
"Bugger!" frowns Captain Pete, "I should have thrown a rock!" "We were this close!" growls Galen. "Don't worry," says Oar,
"We will see them again. They'll never stop trying to get the key." "Sodding prats." growls Captain Pete. "Yeah..." says Galen,
"Whatever he said..."
Edeline stares at the body of Sonya, her expression blank. "Maybe..." says Faeda, worried, "Maybe I could heal
her?" "No, love." waves Captain Pete, "She's long gone." "I wouldn't want you to," says Edeline, coldly. "If you could." Galen places
a hand on Edeline's shoulder. Adie shudders. They stare in silence for a while. "It's odd..." says Edeline, "I've spent my life, wishing
death on her... because of what she did to my clan. And all of the horrible things she's done to people all over Serenity."
Faeda: "And how do you feel now?" (o_O)
Edeline: "Empty... Here lies the monster, which haunted my dreams, driven me to great rage, and both interrupted
and controlled my life. And now it's the end... it's all over. I have gained my wish, finally. But it still doesn't satisfy me. It just
makes me sad." (-_-)
Adie: "Um... it is wrong, if Sonya's death doesn't make me sad?" (>_>)
Faeda: (o_o)
Vi: (-_-)
Captain Pete: "I don't think there's a right or wrong way to handle the death of something evil." (-_-)
"I agree." says Oar, "There are bound to be mixed feelings, due to the fact that the deceased cared nothing of anything,
but herself, shutting herself from any type of love or friendship. She spent her life weaving a trail of hatred, fear, and taking away so much
from so many. So, when a person like that dies, they don't have any bounds that would grieve for them. Only a few who would pity them, like
Faeda, because after all, that person was once a human being."
"But in Sonya's case," says Edeline, "I'm not so sure she ever was human." "It seems likely not." nods Oar. "What's
important," says Galen, "Is how you feel Edeline. If you want to rejoice over Sonya's death or decide to feel sorry for her, you have
the right, either way." "I know." says Edeline, "And, for now, the only thing I want to do is help Faeda find the last shard." "Oh, right!"
nods Faeda, "The Key!" Suddenly the Key glows in Sonya's dead hand, pulls free, and floats to Faeda.
Captain Pete: "I'd wash that first, love." (>_>)
Adie: "CAPTAIN PETE!" (o_o)
Captain Pete: "What?" (o_O)
Edeline: "So, where is the next shard?" (;^_^)
Vi: "It's not here..." (-_-)
Galen: "Come again?" (o_o)
Faeda: "It was here... but the people of the island were warned about Sonya and her guards,
coming here, well before they did show up. So the natives hid the shard in another location, to keep it
safe." (^_^)
Captain Pete: "Then why did bloody hell did we travel here?" (O_o)
Oar: "That's our line..." (-_-)
Captain Pete: (;^_^)
"I don't know." blushes Faeda, "The song instructed us to travel here. And by then, the
Guardians knew the natives were killed and by whom. And they also knew that the shard was hidden somewhere safe."
"But they wanted us to stop them." says Edeline, "Or at least bring the Key to stop Sonya and the others." "That's
my guess too." nods Faeda. "The Guardians are angry and sadden by the fate of the villagers here." nods Vi.
Galen growls, "Oh, hell! If that's all they wanted, why couldn't the Guardians just ask?! Why
go to all this trouble to get us here? We would have went, willingly!" "That's SO true." frowns Adie. "I don't know."
says Faeda, "I don't really understand the Guardians' motives, one hundred-percent. And I don't think I'm suppose to,
either." "No one's annoyed with you, Faeda." assured Edeline, "Don't worry. But we are a little miffed with the
Guardians. Galen's right, we would have came right away, if asked."
Captain Pete: "I have question... if the natives knew of Cow and her Prats coming visit,
why didn't they retreat?" (o_O)
Adie: "Hey... that is a good question." (O_o)
Vi: "This is their home... They wanted to protect it, as long as possible."
(-_-)
Captain Pete: "Sounds a bit rum to me. Why stay here and die?" (>_>)
Vi: "I guess you wouldn't understand it." (-_-)
Captain Pete: "Understand what, love?" (o_o)
Vi: "Nevermind." (-_-)
Captain Pete: "No, really... what were we talking about?" (o_O)
Adie: (o_o)
Galen: (>_<)
Oar: (;-_-)
Captain Pete: "In any event, we can't very well sit around, getting shirty
with the Guardians. We best move on." (^_^)
Adie: "'Shirty'? What's that mean?" (O_o)
Faeda: "I think it means, 'angry'." (;^_^)
Adie: "Oh! Well, speak english, Captain Pete!" (-_-)
Captain Pete: "S-speak eng...? Are you daft?! I am speaking english!" (>_<)
"Captain Pete's right." nods Edeline, "We don't have time to be angry. We have a shard to find!"
"Where to next, Faeda?" asks Galen. "The ruins." answers Vi, "Elven Dale." Everyone exchange looks. "What's all this,
now?" asks Pete, confused. "Oh, nothing." smiles Faeda, laughing nervously. "Well," he says, "Elven Dale is on the
continent. So, I'll sail you back to Fox Arbor." "But before that..." says Vi.
She sings a song of peace and freedom, for the lost souls of the village, even for Sonya. It was
a song to help lost spirits find where they needed to go and to leave this realm in peace. It only took a few minutes to
sing, but for our heroes, it seemed to be long while. "That was nice of you, Vi." nods Edeline, thankfully. "It was
the right thing to do." nods Vi. Our heroes leave the Yellow Island and sail towards Fox Arbor...
