Within the Golden Soul, a realm of light and darkness, Faeda
begans to listen closely for signs of the imbalance. She walks along a blue stone path, suspended
in clouds, heading towards the dark castle that looms in the horizon. Zev growls, clutching onto
her trying to take away the Key, but he is too weak to overpower the seer. "No..." he whimpers,
"No... I need that Key! Give me that Key!" "Zev," says Faeda, looking upon him with pity, "You have
no power here. It's over. You've lost." "No!" he growls, colasping to his knees.
Faeda places her hand on his shoulder and Zev winches, disgusted by her kindness.
"You are dying." she says, "Do you want me to heal you?" "Heal me?" he snorts, "You have no power to
heal my blood, inferior. I am of a blood, a power, more greater than you. Your feeble spells can not
even hope to heal me." "I don't know." shrugs Faeda, "It's worth a try, isn't it?" "Foolish," sighs Zev,
"Your kind is so foolish. It makes me sick to my stomach. I want to puke." Faeda looks away, but her hand
is still resting on Zev's shoulder.
Zev: "If you could heal me, I wouldn't hesitate to kill you and take the Key." (>_>)
Faeda: "I know..." (-_-)
Zev: "Yet, you'd still heal me... foolish." (u_u)
Faeda: "If I could, yes. It's not foolish to have compassion for people... not even for your
enemies. At least, it's not foolish to me." (-_-)
Zev: "It is... very much so." (;u_u)
Faeda: "..." (-_-)
Zev: "I have lived for centuries... and I have ran after ten seers, in my lifetime." (-_-)
Faeda: (o_O)
Zev: "A few I've killed. Others I've mamed. But I was never able to reach the Key! I came close each
time..." (-_-)
Zev was losing blood fast, Faeda worries. "But," he continues, "Everytime I'd reached for the Key, it was
swept away, somehow. The Key... I was born with a taste for it. A hunger so deep, that I alleged loyalty to no one, in pursit of
it! I could care less, if my own had to be sacrificed. I just wanted that Key... my power. It's my power!" "Zev..." says Faeda,
worried. "And you pity me..." says Zev, looking into Faeda's eyes, confused, "You pity me, still? Why? I would never pity you,
I could care less for your pain, if your blood was spilled."
"I know." says Faeda, in a small voice, "I know that's true... But I... I can't help it. I-I... I'm scared for
you, Zev." Faeda begins to cry. "All of the pain you've caused," sobs Faeda, "Everything you've done to my friends, to me, and my
people... And you're not even sorry for it! And you'll never be sorry for it... And still... I care if you live or die! I want to hate
you. I want to so much! But I can't..." Zev looks towards Faeda, a small grin slowly forms across his pale face. "Like I said," he sighs,
"Foolish." Faeda blinks. "Hey," she sniffs, wiping her tears away, "I know what it is, now... Zev, you're not hungry for the Key."
Zev: "What is this foolishness now?" (;u_u)
Faeda: "You're hungry for darkness, pure darkness." (^_^)
Zev: "And you smile at such a obvious conclusion?" (o_O)
Faeda: "No, hear me out! You have been chasing the Key all this time, born with a taste of darkness." (^o^)
Zev: (;u_u)
Faeda: "You've thought it was the Key you sought for, but it isn't the Key! It was here! This place, you had a calling to
be here!" (^o^)
Zev: "You're rambling..." (-_-)
Faeda: "You are to become one with darkness, here, within the Golden Soul!" (^o^)
Zev: (o_o)
"It all makes sense!" giggles Faeda, excited, "The decline in monsters all over Serenity... all of it! The imbalance is, there's
more light than darkness! This conduit needs more darkness to be in balance!" Zev stares at Faeda, afraid of her enthusiasm. "This was all fate." she
smiles, "Or maybe, luck? Either way, you are the missing piece! I've figured it out, all by myself!" Then suddenly Faeda becomes sad, really realizing
what all of this means. "I..." she says, sadly, "I have to merge you here, with the darkness." "Hmm." thought Zev, "That sounds acceptable." "You will be
locked here for eternity." says Faeda, looking towards the stone road. Zev is content with this.
"To be ruler of darkness, for all eternity." he nods, "It's something I wished for. But I was looking towards the wrong item. I thought
it was the Key, not viewing the Golden Soul as a gateway to my desires. How could I've gotten it so wrong?" Faeda begins to cry again. "You are one odd
human." frowns Zev, "I am happy with this scenario and in turn you will win also. So why do you still pity me?" "Because," she sniffs, "You are going to be trapped
here, locked in darkness, forever." "I'm still not seeing your point, inferior." he hissed, become annoyed.
"But..." chokes Faeda. "What?" laughs Zev, "Were you hoping that I would change, like Star did? Or his worthless brother? Ha! Not
likely. I despise you inferiors and will forever wish to kill your kind, until there's none left! And if I could, I would take that Key and continue with that
plan. But... since I cannot, being ruler of darkness, within the Soul will suffice. It's better than nothing." Faeda falls into a hug with Zev, crying on his
bloody robe. "Ugh!" snarls Zev, highly disgusted, but Faeda doesn't care. "It's just sad." she sniffs, "It's just sad to know a person who hates everything and
everyone so much. Even those who love you. It's just so sad..."
Zev: "Let go of me... you stink of ignorance." (>_>)
Faeda: "Goodbye, Zev. I hope all the best for you." (;_;)
Zev: "Oh, I will have the best! Don't you worry." (-_-)
Faeda: "Are you ready?" (;_;)
Zev: "Now. Before I die, please." (;u_u)
Faeda: "I still care for you." (;_;)
Zev: "Ugh! Skip the melodramatics and just do the spell! I have no time to entertain useless notions!" W('O')W
Faeda: (o_o)
Zev: "Today !" (;u_u)
Faeda places the Key above Zev. It spins slowly, floating on strong white wings, casting it's spell. From a wall, a huge cloud of
darkness reaches out to Zev, like hands. It wrapped around him and began to pull him in. "Don't cry, dear." he says, with a twisted grin, "Today is the
greatest day of my existence!" He slowly dissolves into darkness, his dark laughter echoing. It was done. The balance was restored! Faeda wipes her eyes
and head towards a exit.
Our heroes wait outside the Golden Soul, anxiously waiting. Galen had tried yelling towards the conduit, but after the fourth shout
Vi explained that the seer couldn't see or hear anything from the outside. And so for ten minutes, they stared and waited, Edeline pacing back and forth.
Suddenly, Faeda steps back out, her face still wet with tears and her gown splashed with Zev's blood. "Faeda!" jumps Adie, rushing over to hug her friend.
The others rushed over with lots of questions at once!
Oar: "How are you? Are you okay?" (o_o)
Edeline: "Are you hurt?" (o_O)
Galen: "Where's Zev?" (>_>)
Vi: "Did you succeed?" (O_o)
Captain Pete: "Why the bloody hell did you pull Zev in with you?!" (<_<)
Adie: "What was it like inside?" (^o^)
Faeda: "Um... I'm fine, I'm not hurt, I did succeed, and inside was amazing!" (^_-)
Galen: "And about Zev?" (-_-)
Captain Pete: (>_>)
Faeda: "Zev... he was the person that was missing from the imbalance. The Golden Soul needed
more darkness... so, Zev was sucked into it. To be forever a part of the balance." (-_-)
Vi: "You've been crying, Faeda." (-_-)
Faeda: "Yeah... I felt sorry for him. But I'll be okay, now." (;^_^)
Galen: "Hmph, I knew Faeda was gonna be okay, from the start." (^_^)V
Adie: "Liar! You were just as worried as the rest of us!" (u_u)
Edeline: "Yep." (^_^)
Captain Pete: "Poor sod was panicking. Kept screaming your name, love." (^o^)
Faeda: (o_o)
Galen: "I was not!!! Shut up!!!" W('O')W
Everyone laughs, as Galen sulks. Our heroes leave the Realm Of Null and later reaches the Blue Ore campgrounds.
It is there that our group realizes that goodbyes are near. A little somber, they climb onto Captain Pete's iron boat and sail towards
Redport. "I'll drop the lot of you there." nods Pete, "And then I shall take Lady Faeda home, to her islands." Everyone gives each other
a glance. Galen finally breaks the silence, "Who knew it would be this hard... saying goodbye."
"Hey," waves Adie, "Why are we being so silly? It's not like any of us are going to die! We will keep in touch!"
"Well..." says Vi, "How? Faeda is going back home and each of us have our own homes, in different parts of Serenity." "Doesn't mean we
can't visit from time to time." nods Adie, and then takes out six items, "And we can stay in touch, with these!" "What is it?" frowns
Galen. "They look like..." says Oar, searching for the word, "Sprockets." "They're magic communicators." Adie smiles, "I've been working
on them for a while now." "Communicators?" asks Edeline.
Galen: "Hey! When did you have time to make these?" (o_O)
Adie: "During the boring moments... like riding to Fort Quibble or the boat ride here. Times like that." (;^_^)
Galen: "Okay..." (>_>)
Edeline: "Do they work?" (O_o)
Adie: "Sure! Just look into it and speak. It will send a text-message to any friend, who has the communicator!" (^o^)
Oar: "Interesting..." (-_-)
Adie: "Just a few things... you must speak the name of the person you wish to text, first." (^_^)
Galen: "And the second?" (u_u)
Adie: "You must keep this thing hidden from view! No showing it off!" (;^_^)
Galen: "Why? It's not gonna explode or anything, is it?!" (o_o)
Adie: "No! It's an exclusive item for Mages. I'm not suppose to share it with you guys, except Oar. But I'm
kinda breaking the rules here." (;^_^)
Edeline: "Oh, I see... cool." (^_^)V
Faeda: "Thanks, Adie!" (^o^)
Three days later, our heroes were waving goodbye to Captain Pete and Faeda, on the docks of Redport. As the ship pulls
away, Vi starts to sniffle, but waves goodbye with all of her might! Faeda waves goodbye to her friends, also tearful, but very happy. She was
going home, at last. "Farewell, my friends." she waves, "I will wait, until the day we meet again!" "Galen," frowns Oar, "Are you crying?!"
"What?" yells Galen, wiping an eye, "No! Sea water got in my eye! I'm not crying!" Edeline nudges Galen, softly, "Big baby."
