Ed's In Love
By Tootsiecat

"Ed's got no hits on him....he's gone!" Poor Edward had been trying to find the Mad Hatter for hours, and was by now, frusterated.
"Come on, Ed! We need the money!" screamed Faye, equally frusterated. Spike tried a gentler approach, which was pretty odd.
"Look, you can hack into the most complex systems possible. Surely you can find the Mad Hatter." he said, putting his hand on Ed's shoulder and smiling.
It could have been a trick, but he thought that she blushed.
"Okaaaaay!" Ed was seemingly back to her old self. "Ed's got him!! Ed's got Mad Hatter!!"
The crew of the Bebop cheered.
"Food!!" yelled Ed. Ein barked.
* * *
After enjoying a meal, the entire crew slept, except Ed.
"It was weird Ein, Ed felt really funny. Like happy-sad." she whispered to her animal companion. Ein licked her hand and fell asleep.
Why did Ed feel that way?, she wondered, It's the same Spike-person as always.
She felt like crying, so she did, quietly before falling asleep.
That morning, Ed seemed very down. She just hung around the Bebop, quietly. The three adults and the data dog had a meeting.
"She's not acting......weird." said Faye.
"Yeah, she hasn't said a word all day." answered Spike. Ein barked.
"Maybe she's depressed about something?" asked Jet.
"Or sick." said Spike.
"That could be, but as a fellow woman I think I know what's going on." Faye ran off to find Ed.
"Hi Ed!"
"Hi Faye-Faye."
"What's wrong?"
"Ed's confused."
"Really? About what?"
"About......well, Spike-person."
WHAT?! S-she must have a crush on him or something! That'll make TWO of us! And God knows who Spike would choose. Faye thought, but decided to play up the big sister act.
"What's so confusing about him?"
"Well, Ed doesn't know what to say around him anymore. He thinks that Edward is stupid."
"None of us think that you are stupid. And, I think that YOU like Spike."
"Ed always liked him, now Ed wants to be around him all the time, but can't say anything."
"No, Ed. What I mean is that you LOVE him. You want him to....well, um, marry you, right?"
"Ed guesses so. It's just confusing."
"Yeah, it is. I know how it is."
"Good. You can help Spike to realise how Ed feels!"
"Um....okay. Yeah."
Faye ran over to Spike and Jet.
"Well, I wasn't right, but I know what's going on."
"What? Is she sick?" asked Spike.
"Nope. It's a girl thing." Faye winked.
"Good lord..." said Spike and Jet. Why was Faye being so secretive? Was it gross? Spike really didn't get it. He decided to talk to Ed himself.
"Hi Ed, how've you been?" he asked. Ed jumped at hearing his voice.
"S-Spike-person! Um....Ed's fine."
"That's good"
"Y-yes it is. Um....Spike?"
"Yeah?"
"Um..Ed...I um...I..nevermind."
"Huh?" Spike looked over at her. What was this about? Why was she acting this way? What's going on? "Ed are you sure you're okay?"
"Ed's fine. I think."
Spike nodded and walked to Jet. "Okay, something's up."
"Yeah, I know. Faye told me."
"What'd she tell you?"
"You'll have to find out for yourself...loverboy." Jet laughed. Spike was still hopelessly confused. He decided to go outside and have a smoke. He found Ed waiting for him. She looked at him and started to cry.
"Ed, what's wrong? You can tell me."
She stood up and looked at him. "Spike, I love you. I r-really love you." She never expected to have Spike pull her into a hug.
"Ed, I don't know what to say. I'm very flattered, and you've really helped me realize how great life really is."
"So, you love Ed too?"
"Yes. I think I do. Who cares what people think?"
"Yeah! Who cares?"

The End!
